Designed specifically for fishing crab patterns along the sandy beaches from Maine to the Chesapeake for striped bass, the RIO Coastal Crabber has been manufactured from front to back to withstand the rigors of coastal environments that striped bass linger. Qualities like an easy-loading fast sinking head and a low stretch core, for sensitivity and positive hook sets, have been chosen for this fly unique fly line. Even a more durable coating, to manage the constant abrasion from stripping flies along the bottom, has been included.
All Points is proud to have worked with RIO directly in the design of this line. Joe Webster's Coastal Crabber is dialed in for this type of technique.
“Dragging crab flies across sand or mud is one of the most productive ways of catching stripers here on the Maine coast. The Coastal Crabber is the perfect tool for the job. Its abrasion-resistant coating caters well to a wide range of temperatures, which can vary greatly over the course of the striper season. And its well-thought-out taper provides a clunk-free casting experience with sink-tips, allowing for optimal distance – to the point that 100ft wasn't long enough and we had to extend it to 110. Pro Tip: Stretch thoroughly before use.” - Joe Webster / RIO Ambassador
