Maine Bucktail

This is premier, locally sourced, bucktail from Maine deer. You do not find this at any-old fly shop. We strongly believe this is the best bucktail in the world for fly tying, especially for big game/saltwater patterns.
- Premium - Large tails with fibers at the 5"+ mark. These are the highest quality bucktails available for big game/saltwater fly tying. They are processed to uphold the best possible fiber characteristics that bucktail fibers provide. Soft and full of movement when in the water. For those needing longer fibers for hollow fleyes, Beast fleyes, and other similar patterns, these are the tails you want.
- Standard - Either slightly shorter fibers or smaller tails with less fibers compared to the Premium grade. Yet, they retain the highest quality and properly processed fibers. For those simply needing great fibers for standard bucktails, clousers, freshwater streamers, etc. these are the ones for you.
These come in white/natural. If you are looking for dyed Maine bucktails - you can see those HERE
Or we have Hareline dyed Bucktail HERE or HERE.
If you are looking for a specific tail with wavier, thinner, longer, or shorter hairs, please let us know in the "cart notes" and we will try and accommodate you as best we can!
Maine Bucktail orders are final and non-returnable/refundable. We will try to pick out the best tail for your tying purposes, but we cannot make any guarantees on specific bucktail characteristics.
