Maine Merkin (Locally Tied)

Tied on a sturdy saltwater jig hook, these crab flies are tied using a combination of synthetic and natural materials. The Maine Merkin is specifically tied to target striped bass using sinking lines and fished along the bottom. The added benefit of the jig hook (in addition to good hook sets) is that it helps the fly to also navigate sandy/rocky/inconsistent bottoms while not getting hung up or snagged.
