The Maple Syrup fly pattern is a staple for Maine brook trout and landlocked salmon. Most commonly known as a great drake or hex mayfly nymph, this fly also fishes well as a streamer for small stream brook trout throughout the entire season. This fly was created here in Maine by Alvin Theriault.
