At times, here in New England, Sandeels can blanket the shorelines creating aggressive feeds by striped bass. This fly, designed by All Points' owner Josh Thelin, was designed to be fished deep under the waves along sandy beaches. With the combination of bucktail and synthetic materials, it creates great movement and a translucent appearance, very similar to its natural counterpart. Sandeels (Sand Eel) are known to burrow in the sand, and this fly, especially when fished slowly with a sinking line, does a great job of imitating this behavior.
